Your suggestions for improvement:
A port forklift truck is a vehicle used to lift and transport materials within a port terminal, especially palletized general cargo. The recent increase in cargo containerization has caused forklifts to evolve so that their forks can handle containers.
ApplicationsThese vehicles transport cargo within the terminal, load and unload cargo on Ro-Ro vessels and lift and stack pallets and containers.
TechnologiesThe truck has front forks for lifting and carrying cargo. A counterweight is placed in the rear to assure vehicle stability while under load. Small forklifts may be electrically powered. However, bigger models needing more power have diesel engines to ensure better performance with heavy loads.
How to chooseCriteria include load capacity, lift height and engine type, as well as the type and packing of cargo to be handled. A diesel engine offers advantages for continuous use, while an LPG or gasoline engine is more suitable when the engine will be stopped and started repeatedly. For indoor use, the engine must be either LPG or electric.
