Your suggestions for improvement:
Hydro-jet runabouts are small powerboats under 9.5 meters long. They sit low in the water and their propulsion system makes for safe water skiing.
ApplicationsHydro-jets eliminate the risks associated with propeller propulsion, allowing those engaged in towed water sports to swim safely around the vessel's stern. Such craft are also suitable for day outings and harbor hopping. Their shallow draft gives them access to the shoal waters of lakes, rivers and coastal areas. Boat clubs and rental companies may also find them a useful addition to their fleets.
TechnologiesComposite and aluminum construction confers lightness and top performance characteristics. Hydro-jets use a turbine to pump up seawater at low pressure. It then boosts the pressure considerably before expelling the water aft, propelling the craft forward. Some runabouts have cabins and cruising amenities, while completely open models are used exclusively for day outings. Hydro-jet propulsion requires an inboard engines.
How to chooseA length scale with sliding cursor at the upper right of the NauticExpo page allows you to narrow your search by vessel size. A cabin considerably increases the operational flexibility of the boat.
- No dangerous propeller
- Difficult to maneuver at low speeds
