Wakeboard binding are shoe-shaped devices that hold the rider's feet firmly to the board.
ApplicationsThese devices are an indispensable piece of wakeboarding equipment, both for both beginners and experienced riders.
TechnologiesBindings are designed to hold the foot firmly at the instep and the heel. They generally have a base plate which is screwed or otherwise attached to the board. The foot is held by straps, laces or flaps.
They can be single-size (like shoes) or double-size (e.g., S to M, or M to L). The latter are adjustable, allowing riders with different shoe sizes to use the same binding. The sole is generally supple and comfortable, and sometimes has an air-cushion system to absorb shocks after jumps. Some models are specifically designed for women or children.
Choice will depend on the rider's proficiency, age, shoe size and sex. Competitors should favor single-size bindings with satin liners to ensure comfort despite intensive use.
