Wakeskate is a water sport combining elements of wakeboarding and skateboarding. Since the board has no binidngs, tricks resemble skateboard stunts more than those typical of wakeboarding.
ApplicationsSuch boards can be towed by a boat, a jet-ski or a high-speed winch. The rider can perform many types of spins and board flips.
TechnologiesWakestate boards are smaller than standard wakeboard models. Since the rider is not attached to the board, a different range of tricks is possible. However, the resulting technical difficulties require wakeboarding, skateboarding or kitesurfing experience to perform such stunts.
Rocker, or longitudinal board curve is more pronounced than on kitesurf or wakeboards, increasing contact and stability during initial acceleration without bindings. The boards must be covered by very efficient non-slip material to prevent slipping during starts.
Choice will depend on weight, height and riding style. Other factors include water characteristics where you ride and towing method, be it boat, jet-ski or winch.
