Description The Soundac IS mat is a vinyl sound barrier mat composed of polymers filled with the natural mineral barium sulphate. The hessian back on both sides is used for added strength, dimensional stability and an easy surface to use glue on plywood for example. The mat is usually fixed in intimate contact with the original panel. This flexible barrier mat with high density is designed to improve the sound insulation of existing panels of metal, aluminium, wood, plastic, etc. Application Soundac IS mats are very effective in over-coming coincidence dip resonance found in stiff lightweight composites such as plywood sheets and hollow core panels. Examples of applications are floor and wall panels, the reduction of sound of engines, machines, compressors, generators, sound insulation of air ducts, piping and separation walls. The sound barrier mats are well suited and easy to combine with the Soundac AS sound absorbing foams.
