he aluminium catamaran ATLANTIS EXPLORER in detail
The Irish shipowner, Bioatlantis Explorer Ltd has relied on our Shipyard AISTER, located at Vigo’s Bay, and the Asturian company Gondán to add to its fleet a new aluminium catamaran that will operate as a fish-farming vessel in Bantry Bay and Kenmare Bay with occasional trips throughout the coast of Ireland.
As we can see on the outside of the vessel, called ATLANTIS EXPLORER, she has a spacious deck, offering the maximum functionality, and incorporates the most technological advances in order to be more modern and efficient for its activity but also more respectful with the environment.
Therefore, the aluminium catamaran hull and superstructure have built from marine grade aluminium. This material offers several advantages over others such as steel or fibreglass: toughness, resistance, safety, etc.
Accommodation & Propulsion
The main deck of the ATLANTIS EXPLORER is spacious and comfortable with a closed cabin on the top. The cabin has all-around windows with tempered glass for increasing the visibility and a comfortable wheelhouse for the navigation.
This aluminium catamaran is equipped with two main diesel engines SOLÉ DIESEL model SDZ-280, with a maximum power of 200 kW (272 HP) @2300 rpm, which gives the vessel an operating speed of 12 knots.
