This is the first in the new Wave Commander class and at some 15m long and 6m wide she is a powerful vessel designed for offshore support operations. Her new hull form is a development of the Wave Train hull and it has been extensively tested in the model towing tank at Newcastle University to optimise performance. The boat is fitted with twin 490bhp Cummins QSC diesel engines driving Hamilton 362 waterjets which give her a top speed of over 20 knots as well as excellent manoeuvrability and shallow draft. She carries a complement of 2 crew and 12 passengers in comfort within the large deckhouse which includes a galley and W.C. as well as cargo of up to 2 tonnes on the aft deck.
