The ‘QATABAN’ is the second of two sisters of the new Wave Protector class of fast patrol boats which has been deployed on patrol duties at an LNG terminal in the Middle East. She is designed to provide fast intercept capabilities and a comfortable patrol platform. She has a double chine deep vee hull providing her with high speed performance and excellent sae keeping capabilities. She is fitted with twin Cummins QSB 480 bhp engines and twin Ultrajet 305 waterjets which give her a top speed of 38 knots. She has comfortable air conditioned accommodation for up to 6 persons as well as a small WC and day berth along with a galley. She can be fitted with a range of equipment including water canon, fire deluge system, sirens and high power acoustic devices and can if required be fitted with ballistic armour protection. She has a small generator and a comprehensive electronics package and she is ideal for her role in the busy terminal.
