This distinctive survey RIB is based upon the highly successful Wave Ranger Class from Alnmaritec and is fitted with multi compartment Hypalon inflatable sponsons. She is designed to fulfil a multi-role function in the demanding conditions of West Africa where she will be working for the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Ghana. Named POSRA which is a local Ghanaian name for squid (to reflect her rapid response capabilities), she will be expected to undertake duties including survey, patrol, water sampling and fast response. Powered by twin Honda BF250 XU 250hp 4-Stroke outboard engines she is capable of achieving well over 40 knots and she can carry up to 12 passengers in her comfortable air conditioned wheelhouse. She has an electric instrument winch to allow for water samples or sea bed devices to be recovered from depth and she will certainly turn heads wherever she goes.
