Scientific research boat ALN 115 ‘Thames Guardian’

This stretched version of the highly successful ‘Wave Guardian’ class from Alnmaritec is to be used in a multi role capacity for research, survey and patrol work by the UK Environment Agency. She packs a lot into a small space and on deck she is fitted with a moonpool, trawl and recovery winches, a dive ladder and a hydraulic A-frame. Inside she has a large ‘wet laboratory’ and a survey station at the aft end of the wheelhouse whilst forward there is a WC, a small galley and mess area as well as a day bunk. She has a twin Yanmar engines and she is uniquely designed to ‘dry out’ on mud flats with large skegs protecting the propellers and with keel cooling for the main machinery. She is fitted with an air cooled generator powering the 240V system and she is fitted with an array of the latest electronics making her a versatile and very capable platform.
