ALTENA DOGGERSBANK 61′ OFFSHORE
A customer of Altena Yachting wanted a seagoing yacht. A new ship, but after a proven concept. This is how the Doggersbank design came in sight.
According the design of Vripack Yacht Design in Sneek, hundreds of them have been built. Co-director Bart Bouwhuis of Vripack: “A solid, rigid and optimally developed design, ready to perform under all circumstances. The Doggersbank is known as a reliable yacht, designed and built in the Netherlands. What you see is what you get.”
Altena Yachting: We started the construction of the Altena Doggersbank 66′ Offshore this spring, with a steel round bilge hull and an aluminum superstructure.
The first images show a very sturdy ship with classic lines. A falling bow with falling fenders and high bulwarks, a Portuguese bridge around the wheelhouse and a spacious saloon behind it. On top are a flybridge and deck. In addition to the radar bracket, there will also be a loading crane for the dinghy.
Below decks there are three cabins with six fixed berths, and two separate shower and toilet areas. Two John Deere 6-cylinder diesels of 235 hp each are installed in the engine room. To increase comfort on board, the Doggersbank will receive a stabilization system from Naiad. Furthermore, the ship will be equipped with two 6-meter-long Leeuwenstein spud poles, separate from the deep-water anchor equipment. Delivery is scheduled for the end of 2021 / early 2022.
