As the NSRI rescue fleet is quite disparate and old, the NSRI members have wished to equip the fleet with a model corresponding essentially to their naval needs.
The criteria were as follows:

. Fast transfer to the zone in good safety conditions.
. Search day and night on disaster zone.
. Recovery in the water of several castaways by lifting gear.
. Reception for the first care of the shipwrecked persons.
. Possible reception of polytraumatized in good conditions.
. Rescue response combined with helicopter intervention.
. Clear rear deck area for helicopter hoist operations.
. Exterior steering with a lookout equipped for night operations.
. Rescue response in rough sea conditions.
. Berthing boats and ships facilitated by a shock-absorbing defense belt.
. Towing medium-tonnage ships from a bollard.
