Freestyle kayaking is far from dead. Boats are flying higher than ever, and paddlers are linking moves quicker than ever thought possible. After nearly two years of testing, the Kaos Gen 2 is finally ready. Countless hours spent in the workshop shaping, combined with months out on the water testing have lead to some revolutionary design features incorporated into this new freestyle kayak. The decision to only produce the Kaos Gen 2 in Composite has allowed for no compromises. The needs of a competitive freestyle paddler have moved towards High Performance Kevlar & Carbon constructions. This has allowed for increased stiffness and reduction in weight, to give the paddler the extra few percent needed. The Kaos Gen 2 incorporators some unique design features that are really making it stand out from the crowd. Added pop for bigger aerial moves and reduced length for more dynamic maneuvers, this was only the start. We have added a slight ‘V’ in the hull giving faster edge-to-edge transitions, softer rails front and back for more forgiving rides. These changes would normally be enough for any other kayak company, but here at Big Dog we believe in being different. Hence the Kaos Gen 2 is incorporating a revolutionary rail design. By keeping the sharp rails at the mid point of the kayak this allows the boat to pivot quicker and allow the paddler to link moves faster than ever, combined with the added benefit of developing more drive out of carves this revolutionary design is a sure winner. Throughout the whole design process we wanted to keep the Kaos, a Kaos, place them side by side and the Gen 2 is the original Kaos little brother.
