The acquisition of ship´s data, general status messages and alarms is an essential part of modern alarm and safety systems. The steady increase of complexity and volume of generated information creates higher demands on performance of data acquisition systems. The integrated PC of AHD 1200 satisfies this premise perfectly. The Embedded PC AHD 1200 adapts various types of devices from external manufacturers to the Böning ship alarm, monitoring and control system. Therefore, a great many of multifunctional, serial interfaces are provided. Furthermore, six CAN bus interfaces, two LAN interfaces and two USB interfaces are available. All interfaces are connected individually by standardized plug connectors. The powerful processor records all supported data protocols (NMEA 0183, SAE J1939, …) and transmits the required information in real-time on a redundant CAN-Bus for presentation on ship alarm displays. The device is part of the Böning product family and allows therefore individual customized configuration by means of a software configuration tool. The Embedded PC AHD 1200 is designed for bulkhead mounting. The box is developed specially for maritime use. The applied passive cooling system, which supersedes fans and air exhausts, ensures an effective cooling of the device components. The elimination of mechanically moveable parts as e.g. hard discs makes the device shock-insensitive and therefore ideally suited for application aboard of ships.
