The new 10.2m Cheetah made her debut at the Seawork Boatshow this June. The 10.2m aptly named ’Wagcat’ by new owner David Wagstaff is Cheetah Marine’s latest and largest addition to the Cheetah Series.
Many customers from both the hydrographic and leisure sectors were asking for a larger catamaran with full liveaboard facilities so Cheetah Marine have designed and built the 11m series. The 10.2m can be built at a range of lengths from 9.95m up to 11m and with a beam of 3.7m. All lengths provide a substantial deck area. Four choices of wheelhouse lengths are available: 3.5m, 3m, 2.5m and 2m all at 3m wide.
Accommodation forward of the dash in the hulls is fitted depending on the exact requirements of the customer with typical installation including starboard side king cabin and port side bathroom. Both hulls have separate entrances either side of the centrally located steering position.
David chose a central helm position with a raised three person bench seat which can be positioned facing forward when cruising or facing backward into the cabin for relaxation. He required a wide wheelhouse so that he could fit a standard domestic fridge for long range cruising. David also plans to fit L shaped seating and a table in the port corner of the wheelhouse which will convert into another double berth.
The exterior features a sleek profile with complimentary curves similar to those of the popular 7.9m Cheetah series. A walkway either side of the wheelhouse has been designed to enable easy access to the bow and anchor lockers.
Wagcat will enjoy cruising the Nordic Fjords and then the sunnier climes of the Med once she has been completed by the new owner.
