To complement our fenders, we have developed the next generation FENDASKIN, now using Bioprene* to deliver a truly sustainable product. FENDASKIN covers are tight fitting, with a smooth surface, so they won't trap grit or salt crystals against the hull. Additionally, they don’t soak up water or stretch, like a traditional knitted cover, and take up much less volume when stowed. Currently only available in Black, FENDASKIN offer outstanding performance and a sleek, contemporary appearance. They are reversible and guaranteed not to fade for two years. Verified as a Sustainable Solution by the Water Revolution Foundation.
Typically, end-of-life Neoprene covers are destined for landfill, so we have partnered with Circular Flow, a ground breaking organisation, that has opened the world’s first Neoprene recycling facility. As a result, we can now offer customers the opportunity to dispose of their old Neoprene covers or wetsuits responsibly, creating a fully sustainable solution for the manufacture and disposal of fender covers.
*More than two years in development and testing, our all new FENDASKIN is made from Bioprene, a sustainable Neoprene alternative, that doesn’t use petro-chemicals or mined minerals in the production process. USDA Certified, our Bioprene is made using renewable rubber, sugar cane, plant oils and recycled oyster shells. From raw material preparation, manufacturing, to final delivery, the carbon footprint is reduced by 52% and 79% 0f the carbon is from renewable sources, in accordance with ASTM-D6866.
