This aluminum catamaran, designed by Crowther Design of Sydney, Australia, achieved a top speed in excess of 31 knots during sea trials. Powered by two Detroit Diesel 16V2000 engines driving 42-inch diameter propellers, the vessel will operate at a service speed of 29 knots with a full load of 150 passengers.

Her crossing time is less than one hour.
Whaling City Express boasts ample storage space in the passenger cabin for luggage and16 bicycles. Storage carts will allow the crew to quickly load and unload over 4,000 pounds of luggage and dolly freight.
