Description

The umbilical Buoyancy system provides bespoke buoyancy solutions for umbilical cables extending from offshore platforms to the seabed. These modules can be tailored to fit umbilical cables of varying sizes and configurations, with options for either integrated or secondary clamping mechanisms. To ensure optimal umbilical arrangement, Umbilical Ballast modules are also available. Each module is custom-engineered for its unique application, considering factors such as the required lift force, umbilical specifications, and deployment technique. The core of these modules is composed of high-performance syntactic foam, encapsulated within a rotationally molded polyethylene housing. The standard design features an integral elastomeric clamp that securely holds the modules against axial and torsional loads. Compression of this clamp is maintained using either standard hardware or strapping systems. As an alternative, a separate inner clamp constructed from syntactic foam sections with a composite strap assembly can be supplied. In this configuration, the buoyancy module is installed around the inner clamp and can rotate freely around it. Regardless of the clamp type chosen, installation tools are provided to ensure the elastomeric component is adequately compressed.
