Drassanes Dalmau has built the SEXTANT II, 12-metre-long scientific vessel with hybrid motorization. This vessel is specifically designed for underwater research and is considered an international reference in underwater robotics. The configuration of the vessel allows for safe work with several submarines at the same time and, thanks to the hybrid motorization, it allows work to be carried out in favorable sea conditions without generating polluting emissions. SEXTANT II can serve the entire scientific community and can be used in areas such as marine biology or environmental monitoring.
Among other notable features, this vessel has a crane. It is possible to conduct classes with students using underwater robots. It has a cargo deck and a climate-controlled bridge.
