Volume is reduced as flotation is via inflatable chambers from 5m to 25m. Typically used on open water where there could be rough sea and, as a consequence, a high buoyancy to weight ratio is important to offer a better response to waves when being towed. Inflation is achieved by manual, electrical or thermic blowers.
