Description

Calipso 216 Italian design firm, Exit Carbon, is pleased to introduce the Calipso 216 carbon fiber gangway. “We are very excited about this new gangway,” said Giuseppe Bottacin, engineer and owner of Exit Carbon. “But, to be honest, nothing has really changed.” Like all Exit Carbon gangways, Calipso 216 is made of autoclave-cured, pre-preg carbon fiber unlike any other gangway on the market. “Calipso 216 is lighter than any competition’s gangway,” said Bottacin. “Anyone on board--from kids to grandparents--can easily lift it and put it in place. It’s more stable than competing products, and it features our signature carbon fiber surface which no one else offers as standard finishing.” SO WHAT IS NEW? It’s the first Exit Carbon gangway with metal hinges. “This type of hinge is not really new,” Bottacin explained. “But it is new to our products, which have always had distinctive integral carbon hinges. We studied anew how to integrate classic aluminum hinges in a carbon gangway. Incorporating them in the Calipso 216 gangway streamlined our production process, while giving away nothing in terms of safety.” Discover Calipso 216 at Boot Düsseldorf 18. - 26.01.2020   HALL 10 F26
