The pilot boat “Weserlotse” measures 28.62m in length and 7.1m in the beam, with a maximum draught of 2.2m.
The vessel boasts an ice-strengthened aluminium hull, and the power of its double-engine plant (2x 650kW) is transferred onto a single shaft and propeller. However, each engine can also be operated independently, which is the preferred mode for pilot transfer manoeuvres.
Fassmer has fitted the transfer boat with a custom-developed polyurethane fender system, effectively protecting the aluminium structure of the hull. The “Weserlotse” has a hydraulically operated extendable pilot pedestal, as well as a rescue lift integrated into its transom stern.
