New SPECIAL RAID Mainsail compatible for 18 feet sport catamarans TIGER - ALADO - DART HAWK - HOBIE 18 Formula - PACIFIC - PEARL... Forward Sailing presents you the very first mainsail specially designed for coastal raid in catamaran. Inspired by the stories of a few enthusiasts who have gone far enough aboard their catamaran and in parallel to our collaboration with Yvan Bourgnon for whom we have made the sails for his challenges (solo round the world voyage on a sport catamaran / Ice crossing / Mediterranean and English Channel crossing records) we decided to transpose all the good ideas we heard to launch a design compatible with 18 feet (Hobie 18 Formula, Pacific, many F18, etc...) Suitable for RAID use. This moderately powerful sail has a robust finish and is adapted to longer and windier coastal courses. Reefing is easy which will delight the less reckless. A high performance sail: - XRP9 Challenge Cloths. Reinforced fibers are sandwiched between 2 milar films treated against UV. - Cross Cut finish with triradial reinforcement - Fiberglass battens with Forward tensioners using an Allen key - Very easy and quick to modify tension - Penons on sail and leech - Fairly flat cut, with horn that fades well under cunningham tension Special attention to safety: - 2 reefs to effectively reduce the sail and adapt to wind conditions - Easy reefing thanks to the webbing. - Orange horn for good visibility - Adjustable leech on each reef and high position - Possibility to put a float in the head
