Description

The VALENTIJN is justifiably the “pride” of HABBEKE SHIPYARD’s building program. Seventeen vessels have been completed and delivered to the Royal Netherlands Sea Rescue Institution KNRM http://www.knrm.nl/ and a for the Caister Lifeboat http://www.caisterlifeboat.org.uk/. The VALENTIJN can rescue up to 50 people and has shown her worth and ability in the dangerous seas around The Netherlands. In 2000 the design was modified; by making the boats slightly longer, a larger work deck at the stern was created and the wheelhouse provides more comfort to the crew. But the most significant difference with the old version is that the VALENTIJN 2000 class is fully self-righting. The VALENTIJN is designed by W. de Vries Lentsch and is based upon the early design work of the lifeboat designer David Stockton (UK). David Stockton was one of the earlier specialists in the design and application of RIBs. These vessels are built according to the standards and rules of the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS X A1 HSC.AMS). Overview of the electronics and electronic equipment Valentijn 2000 class: 2 x VHF DSC, Icom 505 Direction Finder, Rhotheta RT-500‑M Simrad 3G broadband scanner, 12” TFT monitor, Simrad NSE12 EVO2 Electric chart system, 12” TFT monitor, Simrad NSE12 EVO2 Depth sounder, Airmar AIS, True Heading Electronic compass, Simrad EPIRB, Jotron 45s SART, Jotron Waterproofed portofoon, Simrad HT53 Wireless intercom system, Dave Clark including 4 headsets & helmets
