Hanwha Ocean has delivered SATU FLNG, which initiated the on-sea commercial production of oil for the first time in the world, to PETRONAS. With the square footage that equals to 3.6 times the size of a soccer field (365m long and 60m wide), the facility produces up to 1.2 million tons of LNG a year by pulling natural gas from depths of 70m to 200m. Naming it SATU, a Malaysian word that means number 1, connotes that it is the world’s first and the first FLNG owned by PETRONAS, our client.
