Based on the accumulated design and shipbuilding capabilities, Hanwha Ocean has built semi-submersible oil rigs that can drill for oil even in harsher environments, such as the North Sea.
Safety-first Semi-submersible Drillship
GVA 7500 Semi-submersible Rig, an upgrade from the GVA 4500 model, is a safety-first semi-submersible rig that prioritizes the safety of people and the environment in accordance with “Safety in Design,” which is our slogan we put forward to always remind ourselves about safety from the design stage.
Various Drilling Facility Options
GVA 7500 Semi-submersible Rig offers a variety of drilling-related options depending on the client’s needs. Single Derrick + Offline Casing Building or Dual Derrick Primary BOP Stack and 2nd BOP Stack with Storage Conventional Wireline Riser Tensioning System or In line Riser Tensioning System
Development of the Optimum Hull Form
By developing the optimized hull form for the submerged parts (Pontoons & Columns), we dramatically improved the kinetic performance of the existing semi-submersible rigs and secured more stable dynamic positioning (DP3) capability. With a wide operational window, it can drill even in harsh environments, such as the North Sea, and it also provides maximized drilling efficiency through maximum automation.
