The First Submarine in Northeast Asia to Be Equipped with a Fuel Cell AIP System
KSS-II class submarine is the first submarine in Northeast Asia to be equipped with a fuel cell AIP system, enhancing underwater operation sustainability by more than three times compared to the KSS-I class. This advancement minimizes the frequency of surface exposure and maximizes the covertness, a critical function for all submarines.
Improved Detection Capabilities and Combat Systems
KSS-II has excellent detection capabilities as it is equipped with FAS (flank array sonar) and TAS (towed array sonar). It also has high-performance combat systems with improved simultaneous torpedo-homing function and low-frequency detection &; analysis performance, maximizing the required operational capability.
Quick Reload of Launch Tubes
Equipped with torpedo launch tubes capable of firing torpedoes, sea mines, and guided missiles with a quick reloading system, the KSS-II can quickly launch its weapons.
