MARS features a sophisticated, novel design focusing on enhanced operational flexibility, safety and efficiency. Its state-of-the-art systems, including a double-hull structure, ensure comprehensive protection against environmental hazards and collisions, safeguarding crew and operations.
Multipurpose Task Support Capabilities
This ship not only supplies oil and fresh water to the Queen Elizabeth, the UK’s top-of-the-line aircraft carrier, and its supporting forces but also independently conducts maritime defense and humanitarian assistance operations.
With 17 storage tanks, the ship can hold 19,000 tons of fuel and 1,300 tons of fresh water. Its six powerful oil cargo pumps enable rapid fuel delivery, supplying up to 2,000 tons of fuel per hour to an aircraft carrier via the four hoses on its two starboard RAS rigs.
The ship features a giant flight deck and hangar for the take-off, landing, and maintenance of large helicopters, such as the Chinook. Additionally, it provides temporary residential areas capable of accommodating over 40 additional personnel beyond its standard crew.
The first ship exported to the British Navy with the latest design elements, including enhanced safety and efficiency
MARS features a high-efficiency hybrid propulsion system for versatile operation at various speeds.
The ship's hybrid propulsion system optimizes power management by using the generator and propulsion motor for middle-low speed operations, while the diesel engine drives high-speed mode. This configuration ensures efficient performance across a wide range of speeds, seamlessly adapting to various operational demands.
