PLUG-IN hybrid with "range extender" for electric outboard and inboard propulsions Ran.Ex. is the plug-in hybrid system with range extender specially developed for boats with electric propulsion that need considerable autonomy. The kit consists of an electric outboard or inboard motor with respective accessories, a variable speed generator and a fast battery charger. During use, the generator turns on automatically as soon as the SOC of the battery falls below a pre-configured rate and, through the fast charger, starts charging the main battery pack which, in turn, continues to supply power to the electric motor. The use of the generator is not continuous, but functional to the charging of the battery. In full-electric mode, the system is zero-emission and allows silent navigation with access to protected areas.
