Air-bubble ice-prevention systems keep the water in motion and carry warm water upwards from the bottom. In this way, the formation of ice on the surface is stopped naturally.
Hydraulic engineering structures as well as boats and ships that are wintering in marinas are protected from ice and the pressure it creates. An air-bubble ice-prevention system works very efficiently and is only activated as necessary when particular (minus) temperatures are reached.
An air-bubble system simultaneously creates a natural barrier on the water’s surface against floating objects. In this way the recesses of the gate in a lock, for example, are kept free of floating debris.
