19.6 LCD vs. 20.1” LCD Production of 20.1” LCD panels from LG, Samsung, and AUO ceased several years ago. Due to the scale of LCD panel production there have been New panels available for many years. That supply has for the most part depleted. IED has developed a replacement monitor integrating a 19.6” LCD panel. This monitor FPM-196/RM is a a drop in replacement. Performance is far superior and the LCD is far more rugged then the original 20.1” panel of the past.
