A long and narrow "multisport" kayak for river racing and for advanced fitness paddlers. Almost 1 meter longer than a standard ICF racing K1, has a deeper V-shaped hull that flattens just under the seat position.
These types of kayaks have been originally designed for long-distance races on shallow, fast and braided river sections. Since European competitions usually include more portages, it has a bigger cockpit to let paddlers hop in and out easier. This makes the kayak more user-friendly and more general purpose.
Due to its length, the Rocket 610 is characterized by excellent speed retention thus maximum speed at long distance. Many former marathon athletes found the Rocket 610 to be faster in the long run than K1 racing kayaks. Due to the higher bow it doesn't dip on rapids. The flat hull section behind the center of gravity of course results in greater stability compared to K1 flat water kayaks. The deck has an aggressive shape in front of the cockpit to allow close catches.
