Wood description: Light coloured hard hardwood species with an attractive grain pattern. American and European Ash are quite similar, but European Ash is on average a fraction lighter in colour and often slightly more delicate. European Ash is much less traded (only in unedged wood) and is considerably more expensive than the American wood. Botanical name: Fraxinus Americana Growth area: Southeastern Canada and eastern United States.
