Wood description: Softwood from the west coast of the United States and Canada. It looks a bit like Oregon Pine but is lighter in colour. Hemlock was promoted for some time as a non-tropical alternative to meranti. However, as its durability is somewhat less, good detailing and finishing is essential!

Growth area: West of the USA and Canada. North-east of the United States
