Wood description: Spruce shows a clear colour difference between the light earlywood and the darker latewood. On quarter sawn wood this gives a stripe pattern and on diced wood a flame pattern. Spruce comes from very different growing areas with very different climatic conditions. As a result, there is a great variation in growth ring width, density, fineness of cells and number and size of knots. Growth area: Europe, North Asia
