Wood description: African mahogany. Khaya is found in a very wide area in Africa,
from Guinea in the west to northern Zaire, southern Sudan and Uganda in the east. The khaya from the Ivory Coast, Ghana and Cameroon often consists of a mixture of several khaya species. From Zaire the wood of Khaya grandifoliola is exported without mixing under the name Zaire khaya.
