Storage tanks are used to store large quantities of liquid products. These typically comprise an open-topped cylindrical steel shell equipped with either a fixed roof or a floating roof. The rainwater that collects on these floating roofs must be removed to prevent it from collapsing. The MarFlex Explosion Proof Pump (MXPP) can be placed on both new and operational storage tanks. The pump is installed in a well on the floating roof to drain the rainwater externally. The pump can combine with the Automated Containerized Powerpack (ACP), officially approved by a notified body and will drain any water automatically with the installed sensors. It is a clean and efficient way to drain the rainwater that cannot contaminate the water supply, a risk taken when draining locally to the sewer. The MXPP is constructed out of bronze to adhere to ATEX restrictions, as these reduce carbon and sparks to create a less explosive atmosphere.
