Immediate boom deployment for oil spill containment
Markleen Seamaster self-inflatable oil contaiment booms are the best option when the key requirements are speed of deployment with little personnel, combined with the high buoyancy and wave-following characteristics typical of an inflatable boom.
The Markleen Seamaster boom, available in overall heights of up to 1150 mm, inflates by itself using atmospheric air pressure. Its internal frame expands automatically on leaving the hydraulic boom reel, and its freeboard inflates using atmospheric air which is taken in through breathers on the top of the boom. The boom is therefore fully operational the moment it touches the sea surface.
The Seamaster boom stands out from its competitors thanks to its lack of external valves, which are notoriously easy to break on other booms, and its ease of deployment, as it requires no cumbersome equipment other than a conventional horizontal boom reel. The Seamaster also contains virtually no metal components.
