Oil containment booms for use in inter-tidal areas
Beach sealing booms are used to seal off the area between high and low tide when dealing with an oil spill affecting a beach.
Markleen S Series booms consist of an inflatable upper air chamber and two water chambers used as a ballast at the bottom. This way, when there is sufficient depth of water, the boom will float like a conventional oil containment boom to contain the oil slick on the water, and at low tide the weight of the water chambers will seal the boom against the beach to prevent the oil from spreading.
The Markleen S Series boom comes with internationally used ASTM end connectors, to enable it to be connected to any other type of boom when in deeper water.
