The Explorer class of Next Generation Shipyards is a tough and extremely seaworthy ship (CE-A Ocean-going). With the design of the Explorer class, the right balance has been made between seaworthiness, speed and weight. The result is an optimal performing vessel with more speed, less engine power and therefore low fuel consumption. The twin-engine ship is built of sea-water resistant aluminium and has a solid design. The ship is 15 meters long, 5 meters wide and has a draft of 0.90 meters. The robust all-round fender ensures comfort and stability. In the engine room of the Explorer 2x a Volvo D6 435 HP. The explorer class achieves a top speed of 28 knots and a continuous speed of 26 knots. The dashboard in the wheelhouse is clearly and ergonomically arranged. Navigation equipment and other installations are built in according to the customer’s wishes. The on-board net is 24 Volt 2-pole and fully insulated from the hull. The wheelhouse offers, in addition to a comfortable steering chair, sufficient seating. The couch is spacious enough to be used as an extra sleeping place. The seat of the co-pilot can be used as an extra seat at the table by converting the back part and adjustable seat height. Below deck is a U-shaped galley with a full plastic worktop and a stainless steel sink. A four pit induction hob, fridge, extractor hood, dishwasher and microwave oven are present and fully integrated. Next to the kitchen there is a spacious sitting with table and couch. In the owner’s cabin a double French bed is placed with sufficient storage space under, next and on the sides of the bed. A shower and toilet are accessible from the owner’s cabin.
