Hydraulic gravity davit (hydraulic luffing arm davit) is special equipment intended for shipboard launching and recovering a lifeboat (i.e launching the lifeboat it serves from the parent ship to sea level as well as recover the lifeboat to its original stowed position from sea level).
The hydraulic davit is capable of safely launching a lifeboat it serves to outboard position depending on electricity or accumulator (it’s no needed for the parent ship to supply power) under the adverse condition of a trim of up to 10 degrees and a list of up to 20 degrees either way. Then safely lower the lifeboat depending on its gravity. The appliance is designed and calculated based on all of the passengers of the boat embark and lower from the stowed position. The max working load for hanging off the ring is equal to the recovery load of the davit.
Standard
Hydraulic gravity davit (hydraulic luffing arm davit) performance conforms to the requirements of the Amendments to SOLAS 1974 - MSC.47(66) & MSC.216(82), International LSA Code MSC.48(66) & MSC.218(82), IMO Resolution MSC81(70) and MSC.226(82).
