Hydraulic telescopic davit is special equipment intended for shipboard launching and recovering a lifeboat (i.e launching the lifeboat it serves from the parent ship to sea level as well as recover the lifeboat to its original stowed position from sea level). The appliance is drove by hydraulic or electric. In common case, it can be performed hydraulic cylinder luffing and hydraulic winch rotation by electric motor drive hydraulic pump to offer oil.
The davit is capable of safely launching a lifeboat it serves to outboard position depending on electricity or accumulator (it's no needed for the parent ship to supply power) under the adverse condition of trim 10°and heeling 20 °either way, then safely lower the lifeboat depending on itself gravity.
The appliance is designed and calculated based on all of the passengers of the boat embark and lower from the stowed position. The max working load for hanging off the ring is equal to the recovery load of the davit.
Standard
Hydraulic telescopic davit performance conforms to the requirements of the Amendments to SOLAS 1974 - MSC.47(66) , International LSA Code MSC.48(66), IMO Resolution MSC81(70) and MSC.216(82), MSC.218(82) and MSC.226(82).
