The tilting spreader is used for unloading containers by tipping them over the ship's hold. Unlike its predecessor the SNP-20 (Model NK419M) tilting angle reaches 103° which ensures that the entire shipload is unloaded from the container.
Unloading dry fertilisers from rail hoppers into specialised 20' containers is done on the spot, skipping an intermediary storage unit. Dry fertilisers are stored in specialised containers as future shiploads. That way the containers are turned into storage elements, which allows the terminal to stack and accumulate fertiliser shiploads of various types whilst ensuring high préservation of product.
