The Kingfisher is out of date. It's not a speed boat, it can't pull a water skier, it has no onboard electronic equipment. It's a throwback to the Maine tradition of square-stern fishing canoes.
A smooth riding, stable, efficient hull, it needs only a 3 or 4 horsepower outboard to get fishermen or pleasure boaters to where they want to go (the hull will certainly take a larger motor if wanted). Its hull will safely handle a choppy lake or a full load of passengers. Kingfisher is built extra heavy to withstand the extra forces a motor creates.
Popular options are mahogany trim and bright transom, oar locks, bow or stern storage compartments, your choice of seating arrangements or even a four foot extended deck for storage and weather protection.
