The original Workstar 9.6m aluminium landing craft was modified with a wider beam and wider bow door in 2007, for a client who was refurbishing a house on an island off the West Coast of Ireland. He needed to transport small tractors and implements, a Land Rover, a Land Cruiser, building materials and, occasionally, sheep and cows out to the island. This model is the only 9.6m aluminium landing craft we now build and the slideshow is of the latest iteration, which was very competently built by Legacy Marine, Port Elizabeth, RSA and shipped to an island resort in the Maldives. Equipped with twin 150hp/112kW Yamaha 4-stroke outboard engines, the Workstar 9.6mLC achieved in excess of 30kts on trials with a loading of 600kg. The Workstar 9.6m aluminium landing craft is also available with a flying bridge with a pilothouse and inboard diesel engines, coupled to sterndrives or waterjets. This fast aluminium landing craft is a well proven vessel and is of a useful size and capacity that will fulfil many workboat requirements.
