Kayak engine bracket

The motor mount is intended for outboards up to 2.5 HP. To use a motor on a narrow hull like a canoe, youmotor-mount need to counterbalance its weight. Place about 50 lbs on the opposite side from the motor, forward of center. A large water jug works well. Do not use rocks or other very dense objects since these may cause problems if you capsize. Add flotation in the stern, equal to the weight of motor. The motor mount has fixed clamps attaching to the gunwales in front of and behind the motor bracket. The heavy-duty aluminum cross bar has holes to adjust to wider and narrower beam. With its flexible clamping system the motor mount works on all PakCanoes as well as folding canoes from some other manufacturers. We do not recommend this motor mount on Pakboats Puffins.
