"Teineskjær" is purposely designed vivier crabber, dedicated to catch crabs and other crustaceans in North Sea.
Basic design of the vessel was provided by Norwegian naval architects Sawicon AS, while improved technical and workshop drawings were made by Yard’s subsidiary “Naval Engineering & Design NED”. "Teineskjær" represents state-of-the-art technology.
She is powered by 441 kW Cummins KTA19 M3 main engine driving a 2000 mm CP propeller through Heimdal HG254 reduction gearbox. Vessel is equipped also with two generating sets Cummins 6CT8 3DM of 118 kW output each. Electrically driven 75 kW side thrusters located fore and aft delivered by Vestnorsk Engineering and flap rudder, provide ship with excellent manoeuvrability. The crab pots are stored in the hold below main deck.
Refrigerated to -15º C bait store is cooled by Skogland unit and located next to pot store hold. Layout of the deck comprises table for emptying and rebaiting crab pots.
Crab pots are handled using 2 tons Celtic Slave pot hauler winch located fore on the starboard side. Live crabs are transferred to the spacious, 42 cubic meter vivier tank, which is fitted with 2 seawater circulation pumps and air blowing system. Cargo will be handled using 1,1t/7m crane delivered by Norwegian Marine Equipment located on shelter deck. Access to the holds is provided by hatches on the deck as well as hydraulically operated side gate.
Accommodation for 6 crew members, galley, mess room and wardrobe are outfitted in high Norwegian standard. Spacious wheelhouse on the vessel provides the skipper with the highest level of engine control, navigation and communication aids.
