ADVANCED DESIGN, COMPETITIVELY BUILT
At IHC, we combine in-house expertise in both the design and construction of state-of-the-art heavy-lift vessels. We can assume full responsibility for a project, but are also able to provide individual design and equipment packages. The latter can include integrated project-specific equipment – such as IHC’s Hydrohammer® – as well as our cutting-edge vessel systems.
PROVEN TRACK RECORD IN HEAVY-LIFT VESSELS FOR THE OFFSHORE INDUSTRY
Our proven track record includes heavy-lift semi-submersible vessels, sheerlegs, barges and jack-up vessels. It also includes mono-hulls with some of the largest lifting capacities available to date such as the Rambiz 4000 and the Oleg Strashnov, which feature lifting capabilities of 4,000 and 5,000 tonnes respectively.
We provide tailor-made solutions for all environmental and functional requirements, from the shallow waters of the North Sea and the harsh environments of the Norwegian continental shelf to the ultra deep waters of Brazil.
At the end of 2004 Seaway Heavy Lifting approached GustoMSC with their plans for fleet expansion. The company wanted an additional heavy lift vessel to complément their fleet, which currently exists of heavy lift vessel Stanislav Yudin and anchor handling tug/offshore supply vessel Neftegaz-66. The key requirements for the new build vessel were a lifting capacity of 5,000 mt, a transit speed of 14 knots and the possibility to add pipe laying capabilities in the future, without impacting the heavy lift capability of the vessel. Close coopération between Seaway Heavy Lifting and GustoMSC eventually led to the design of the Oleg Strashnov.
