The electronic filters protect the on-board equipment (Radar, GPS, Loran, Depth sounders, VHF, etc.) from the dangers of overvoltage and from electrical problems due in most cases to extra currents produced by maneuvers of the electric starting motors, from the winch again, from alternators and atmospheric discharges. Inserted between the power supply and the device to be protected, electronic filters solve all the problems listed.
