Elektromagnetic switchable Polface clutch
The SGF switchable clutch is for the connection and disconnection of main and auxiliary drives. The clutches are used in e.g. hybrid applications, test benches and special machines.
Functioning:
When the coil body is switched on, a magnetic flux is generated within the coupling, which exerts an magnetic pull on the anchor ring via the pole faces of the rotor. As a result, the anchor part is pulled axially towards the end face of the rotor and the torque is transmitted by friction. Disengagement stops the magnetic flux and the anchor part fall back to its original position by means of a diaphragm spring. The Transmission of torque is stopped.
Characteristics
» Coupling can switch under different speeds between drive and driven shaft
» Fast disengagement without residual torque
» Designed for operating in rough conditions
» Compensation of radial, axial and angular misalignment
Benefits
» Maintenance free due to slip-ring-free power supply and permanently lubricated bearings
» Low wear due to special surface treatment
» Backlash free torque transmission
» High switching frequency due to optimal heat dissipation
» Damping of torque peaks in the drivetrain
Common Applications
» Driveshaft for compressor
